Luna (2024) [22 minutes] *world premiere*
For almost an entire year, Jennifer Bewerse has been filming the full moons in addition to special vistas on the seasonal equinoxes in the development of a large scale video installation. I have watched her plan this journey, sharing in the excitement and awe at the moon cycles and the sense of wonder at the slow yet quickness of time. Jen asked me to score her installation; this is the first excerpt of that project. Together, we explored Jen’s favorite beautiful scruffy sounds and she developed ways of moving between them. The score for the piece is as poetic as it is material; as the wolf moon from this January traverses the screen, the musical sections take shape in a pallindromic lunar cycle.
