Artist Operations Manager
Matt Weaver is an arts administrator, vocalist, and violinist with a rich background in performance and advocacy within the orchestral and vocal music domain. After graduating in 2013 from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, emphasizing violin and orchestral studies, Matt has actively pursued diverse performing and leadership experiences in the New England and Los Angeles communities. Matt has sung with the Boston Symphony’s Tanglewood Festival Chorus since 2014, having served as an elected member of the chorus committee due to his leadership contributions. As a violinist, he has performed with the Brookline Symphony Orchestra as well as in the contemporary music scene as a studio musician and live performer across the rock, pop, indie, and gospel idioms. Matt’s involvement in music extends to the professional a cappella scene, where he both performs and holds leadership roles.
Matt currently resides in Los Angeles, where he’s pursuing his master’s degree in Arts Leadership at USC’s Thornton School of Music. His work at USC is focused on making classical music more relevant and accessible to wider audiences, especially younger generations and communities of color. He has worked with the Los Angeles-based chamber organization Jacaranda Music as their METRO Ambassador, where he collaborated with LA-area collegiate music faculty to engage their students with dynamic chamber music programming. Matt first began working with Brightwork’s in October 2023 and now serves as Artist Operations Manager.
