Niloufar & Antonin
Niloufar Shiri (kamancheh) and Antonín Fajt (keyboards) combine traditional and folk melodies from Iran and the eastern Czech Republic with improvisation, jazz and creative composition. Their music is rooted in emotion and unity, transcending ambient boundaries between songs, textures, rhythmic cycles, poetry, and landscapes. They’ve worked with iconic musicians such as Ben Finley, Corey Fogel, Eyvind Kang & Jessika Kenney, Lisa Harris, and Iva Bittová. Niloufar and Antonín met in 2019 in Southern California and are currently based in Minneapolis/New York.
In the fall of 2021, they released an album titled Little Mountains:
