Fay Victor is a wonderful and versatile performer and composer working in many musical worlds. I know her also as an educator and organizer, where she is skilled at bringing people together to make music almost instantly. Safe HarborShade is a piece written to bottle the spontaneity between performers that know and trust each other. It was originally written for her alto voice and a bass instrument and since has been performed in versions with two bass instruments. – Joshua Rubin
